RE: Pens fans everywhere saying they'll win The Cup next year

There's nothing I'd like to see more than to see my boys win BUT to make it all the way to the finals, loose and then come back to win the cup next year -- let's just say this isn't the Montreal Canadiens of the 1930s/1940s. I mean just look at the Ottawa Senators, where are they now? They don't call it the hardest title to win in sports for nothing. Getting to the finals is a feat in and of itself

And according to hockey analysts everywhere this current Penguins hockey roster will not remain intact for the next season. Ray Shero's got to work some black magic to keep his team red hot. Crosby and Malkin can only do so much! ALSO whispers around the league are saying that Malkin's peacing out of Pittsburgh once his contract his up next year. Which from Malkin's standpoint makes complete sense. He'll never make as much as or more money than husband no. 6; he'll never be the star of the Penguins, he'll always be the Robin to Crosby's Batman; always in the shadow, never in the spotlight!

Now before y'all go nutz, just think about it logically:

why stay on a team where you'll always be second fiddle? When Malkin's contract is up, he'll have is pick of any team in the league (well except for Washington). For his career? for the money? for the endorsement deals? Listen people the age of franchise loyalty is not dead per se BUT there's no way it can withstand the new age of ridiculous amounts of money and Gatorade commercials. This is a new generation, this is the new NHL. But having said that I think Sidney Crosby will stay in Pittsburgh for his entire career
