Saracens Win the Aviva Premiership!
Martin Johnson — and not just because he’s the England manager and picks the team now!
What would you be if you weren't a sportsman?
I always thought I would go into physiotherapy or something else sport related.
Which other sportsman would you like to be?
if it was two years ago it would definitely be Tiger Woods but, perhaps, now it would be Rory McIlroy.
Career highlight?
Must be the Lions tour to South Africa in 2009. The whole trip was a great experience and to play in the Test series was fantastic.
...And the worst moment?
It was in a Premiership match at Welford Road when I failed to finish off a certain try against London Irish. All I had to do was to fall over, but I lost control of the ball.
If your house was burning down, what one possession would you save?
I’d make sure everyone was out before saving my two dogs, Scampi and Rolo.
I'm still calling him Scamp, I don't care!
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
Take your chances, because it may be a long time before the next one comes along.
Favourite karaoke song?
Rockin’ All Over The World by Status Quo.
Most-listened to songs on your iPod?
Turn Around and Total Eclipse of the Heart by the Dan Band. I’m also listening
to Flogging Molly, an Irish-American punk band which Geordan Murphy (Leicester’s
Ireland full back) introduced me to.
Last film you saw?
Iron Man 2.
Last book you read?
I’m reading a non-fiction book at present — it’s about the survivors of Auschwitz.
Favourite pre-match meal?
The night before a match I often cook carbonara for anyone who wants to come along — usually Ben Youngs and Geordan Murphy.
BROMANCE! They probably tie each other's ties and fix each other's hair, tnawwww
Can you cook? Best dish?
I’m pretty good. Spaghetti carbonara is the dish.
Your favourite holiday destination?
Positano on the Amalfi coast in Italy. It’s gorgeous.
In a film of your life, who would play you?
I was told recently by Martin Bayfield, the ex-international and TV man, it would have to be Clint Eastwood.
What's the most expensive thing you ever bought?
I bought a 10-year-old Land Rover Defender — it’s very good for taking the dogs about.
Tell us a secret... Just one?
I got a GCSE for dancing when I was a member of the West Berkshire Dance Group studying contemporary and street dancing.
I thought we already knew this?

I'm not even worried

Looks like Tom Croft will miss the start of the Six Nations, and his replacement will most likely be James Haskell and his mouth. The reason I'm not worried is that if/when Tom is fit Haskell will be regulated to the bench, maybe even to the stands. Enjoy it while it lasts Haskell, because you know everyone will just be counting the minutes till Tom takes to the pitch.

A Quickie with Tom Croft
PS is that GEL IN HIS HAIR???? I thought we were past this, Tom!

Not so Fast: Good Does Triumph Over Evil!

James Haskell's voodoo doll of Tom Croft just couldn't cut it...much like whatever James Haskell does, because Tom Croft will not need surgery to repair his injured shoulder after all.
phew!
This of course means that Croft will mostly likely be healthy for the Six Nations, which will essentially be the practice run for the world cup, and if Haskell doesn't make an appearance there, well its kind of safe to say he'll have a special seat to warm in New Zealand!
Ahhh justice!
What's more, it seems that The Mouth has given up on the no. 6 Jersey:
"I'd like to have a shot one day at 7 for England, playing with Crofty and Nick Easter. But you've got Lewis Moody and now Hendre Fourie in the way so it's a real difficult thing to do."
Planet Rugby

Oh Hendre Fourie, that's a South African name if I've ever heard one. But I digress, its appears that Haskell is FINALLY getting wise to the fact that Tom Croft is #1 for number 6! But I don't know why he thinks he'll be able to take on Lewis Moody, is he serious right now?
Here's what he said about starting in the Samoa game:
"It was not about me trying to force my way back into a side because you don't want to do too much. I just wanted to put my credentials out there, have a solid game and make no mistakes, which is what I did. If I can involve myself on the bench next week that will be brilliant. These decisions are out of my hands so I can just keep doing what I'm doing."
...Tom Croft doesn't have these kinds conversations, just sayin'His move to France barely made the impact he wanted it to.
BONUS

Ugo Monye feels the EXACT same way we do:
Sport.co.uk notice you’re one of an ever increasing number of sportsmen on Twitter – who do you enjoy following, and are there any players with whom you’re loving the banter?
Danny Care...I’m always having banter with him. Dave Strettle is another good one actually; he’s quite funny for a northern lad! James Haskell has always got something to say...when he’s not trying to promote himself.
AHAHAHAHAHA!

NOOOOOOOOOO

Tom Croft will be out for at least 4 weeks due to a shoulder injury, he received during England v South Africa game(which they lost)...
I think I've underestimated James Haskell.

Always a bridesmaid, never the bride

I just poured myself a nice glass of haterade. That's right, its a James Haskell post!
It has been announced that James Haskell and his mouth have been named in the Samoa game this coming Saturday, replacing Tom Croft.
No disrespect to Samoa but they're not what you would call a formidable force in the international rugby community. Martin Johnson would not pull this switch-a-roo if England were playing say, South Africa, just saying. I mean why would you swap a multi-dimensional player for one who thinks going to the gym and being the one with the biggest muscles, and having a twitter account is enough. Haskell is so basic, that even I'm bored with is game, several time zones away.
This is totally to give Croft a rest, and he knows it too.
I'm so embarrassed for him.
PS kind of sucks for England that their number 2 guy is that far behind their number one. *knocks on wood* I'm not going to say anything because I'm not about to tempt fate and have you blame it all on me :S

Tom Croft Video of the Day
OH. And I don't want to seem too in love with myself but as you were watching the video did you notice something different about Tom?
Well it seems as of late, he's stopped with the hair gel, I mean how many times have I told him through Death of a Trend to stop using gel, it really does nothing for someone whose hair is thinning! And it seems he has taken my advice. His hair looks so much better, wouldn't you agree?
So this is like proof that Tom totally reads this blog! In that case, Tom, email me ;) and then we can

England Lost but Tom Croft's Still a Babe, Haskell Remains a Jealous Hater

"I unpeeled my name on the side of my sponsored Land Rover to find the name of Tom Croft," he says. Lengthy pause. "Just joking."-James Haskell, September 2010

Tom Croft at Last
The other day I was bemoaning the lack of new Tom Croft photos and Tom Croft news for that matter but I guess since he's acting Captain for the Leicester Tigers and all, he got his very own photo shoot which he shared with his adorable, albeit bitchy looking, dog. Now the caption said that his dog's name Scampi but in a previous article he was Scamp, personally I like Scamp better and that's what we're calling him from here on in, any objections
I know its a bit strange to celebrate the eve of the new NHL season with a Tom Croft post but what can I say, I know the leafs are going to loose, so why not some goofy pictures of our Tom to brighten our Thursday evening?

He's so goofy and awkward and looks ridiculous with that tiny dog. Whatever that's why we love him!
