Is the NHL failing at holding my attention (and my blog) hostage...nah! But I must tell you there is good news in the world of music, in particular good music!
So the Verve are back...yes the Verve who is best known for their smash hit 'Bittersweet Symphony' and then breaking up 5 minutes after it went #1 in a bajillion countries BUT the Verve were together for a decade before their break up in 1999 and thus were making great music before 'Bittersweet Symphony' became the Class of '99 anthem. Urban Hymns (their last album) was arguably their best effort and besides the popularity of previously mentioned song, Lucky Man I think is an epic masterpiece, probably one of their best songs ever.
It will please you to hear that the Verve have reunited touring (the UK anyway), and have put whatever drama they've had behind them! Richard Ashcroft's solo career was amazing but nothing beats the Verve! They're timeless! They're orgasmic! They just are! If there was any band who broke up within in the last decade that should reunite its the Verve and my god am I ever glad that they have! *squeeeeeeeeeee*
