For Japan
I just want to remind anyone who stumbles upon this blog, whether random or regular, to donate to your local Red Cross or similar NGO to support the victims of the Tsunamis in Japan. I can't imagine the devestastion thousands of people are going through, it makes me emotional just thinking about it. Most of us aren't doctors, or civil engineers, or emergency response personnel, but donating money, clothes, food, or whatever totally makes a difference in the lives of people whose world has been turned upside down.
I have friends on the West Coast and even though our Tsunami warning was called off by midday, I just kept thinking, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't contact them or know that they were okay, and then I got more emotional, so even though I don't know anyone in Japan, I can still empathize with their pain and suffering because it could have happened to someone I love.
You can donate to the Red Cross:
-Red Cross Canada
-Red Cross UK
-Red Cross US
Or to Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Boarders (my favourite NGO):
-MSF Canada
-MSF UK
-MSF US

It was the least I could do in the wake of this disaster. Thank you so much for commenting, it makes me feel like I'm actually helping even if its only a little bit. Good Luck with everything!
